Together with the col·lectiu artístic Suburbe, we will organize during the month of July the Segona Intervenció Mural al Metro – Sota la Ciutat. It is an exhibition dedicated to the reinterpretation of mural painting, one of the artistic expressions that with more richness and depth has established a relation between art and society.
Based on underground art, peripheral, we decide to exhibit these works in different underground and short distance train stations in Barcelona to make people think about the top and bottom, the centre and the periphery of our society. The format of the exhibition is mainly based on mural art, but in an open manner to cover disciplines such as poster art, photography and graphic design as well as traditional mural art, banners and audiovisual projections.
The aim of this exhibition is to present the relation between his work and the architect’s social awareness, as he was an exponent of the Brazilian Modernist movement as well as of the renovation of architecture during the second half of the 20th century. The exhibition consists of 50 large format art prints that cover the creative background of the architect, putting it in context and in relation to his mentality.
