This year the UPEC will be realized between 7 and on July 11, 2008 in the Faculty of Geography and History of the UB.

Program
The UPEC celebrates the fourth edition of his journeys:
This July, once again, the Facultat of Geography i Història of the UB will be a scene of the UPEC (Universitat Progressista D'Estiu de Catalunya), in his fourth edition. The days will take place between 7 and on July 11 and they try to be a space of meeting of the different progressive sensibilities, where political officers, social, expert academic representatives and the world of the culture, they share experiences, knowledge and reflections.
Under the motto The street in the university, the university in the street, these days will treat in different presentations the following blocks:
- IDEOLOGICAL AXIS Beyond the management proposed of left sides
- NATIONAL AXIS Catalunya's national Joint in the Spanish State
- ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL AXIS Levers of well-being, bet of future
- AXIS ON MASS MEDIA ideological Filters of the fourth power
It is a question of a forum opened the whole society, in which current subject matters will be debated and of collective interest to recover our history, to understand better our reality and to generate offers to improve the well-being and the quality of life of the citizenship.
The guests of this year will be between others Joan Coscubiela, General Secretary of Workers' Commissions of Catalunya; Pepe Rodríguez, Doctor in Psychology, teacher of investigative journalism in the UAB and writer; Alfons López Tena, vowel of the General Council of the Judicial Power (CGPJ); Josep Maria Álvarez, General Secretary of General Trade Union of Workers-Catalunya; Elena Valenciano, Euro MP and Gaspar Llamazares, Coordinating General of IU.
